Moto G 3rd Gen. comes with better processor, more RAM, 4G support, better camera and some new sets of features like water resistant, dual LED flash etc. Now just after a short time of its release Motorola has gone a little further and launched Moto G Turbo Edition with some minor improvements. So here I talk about the new improvements and additions in Moto G Turbo Edition and compare it with Moto G 3rd Generation and also tell you which one you should go for.
What is New in Moto G Turbo Edition?
Design wise and specifications wise Moto G Turbo Edition is an exact copy of Moto G 3rd Generation. The major improvements or additions to Moto G Turbo Edition are mentioned below.
Better Processor or SOC (system on chip)
The major improvement in Moto G Turbo Edition is the addition of faster and better processor or SOC which is Qualcomm Snapdragon 615. Snapdragon 615 (8x ARM Cortex A53) is a 64-bit Octa core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. It is one of the latest and fastest processors around and has relatively greater performance than the 1.4 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor present in Moto G 3rd Generation.
Fast Battery Charging
Moto G Turbo Edition supports fast battery charging or turbo battery charging. This fast charging is done through a special TurboPower charger which can charge your phone in 15 minutes for 6 hours of battery usage. A 15W TurboPower charger is included with phone to fast charge or turbo charge your android phone.
Both Water & Dust Resistant
Besides being Water Resistant Moto G Turbo Edition is also Dust Resistant. Moto G Turbo Edition is IP67 Dust and Water Resistant whereas as Moto G 3rd Generation is IPX7 Water Resistant only.
Problems with Moto G Turbo Edition
The major problem in the Moto G Turbo Edition is the HEATING issue. Many users have reported that the phone temperature can get as high as 40 degree Celsius or more which makes the phone difficult to hold and work on. Also the battery gets heated very quickly when you are charging the phone with TurboPower charger. The Snapdragon 615 processor is the root cause of this heating issue in the phone while working. The phone gets heated up very quickly even when working for fewer minutes only.

Final Words & Which One to Buy?
As I have said before also, both phones are identical except one is included with a newer and faster processor. Moto G Turbo Edition is faster in applications, programs and games but the heating problem is a huge downside of this phone. You do not want to carry or work on a phone that heats up like crazy and it is also dangerous to your health and can pose other risks or hazards too. So in total if you want to choose between these two Moto G brothers then I would suggest you to go for Moto G 3rd Generation. But if you are fine with heating issue and want a little more performance and faster battery charging then go for Moto G Turbo Edition.
