Circle Raw Power 500 Watt SMPS Review & Specifications
Circle Raw Power 500 Watt is a computer power supply from an Indian brand Circle CT. Circle CT is an Indian computer hardware company that is headquartered in Mumbai. They sell variety of computer components that includes Mouse, Keyboard, Speaker, Head Phone, Ear Phone, Webcam, Laptop accessories, Power Supply and Cabinets.
The quality of their products is average and their top selling products are mostly keyboards and power supplies. One thing I noticed about all their products is that they good looking and appealing to the eye. Their SMPS’s have become quite popular because their availability and local brand advantage. Here I am going to review their Circle Raw Power 500 Watt SMPS and tell you about its specs and performance.
Circle Raw Power 500 Watt (PFC) SMPS Specifications
Circle Raw Power 500 Watt SMPS with PFC is rated 500 Watt SMPS according to its Company. They have listed its specifications on their official website as shown below.
They have listed almost all the things except the most important thing in an SMPS, which is the amount of current on 12V rail. This is the only thing that matters and decides the performance of a SMPS. The listed current under 12V Rail of Circle 500W Power Supply is very low, which is only 28A. This current may be suitable for a 300W power supply but is not enough for a SMPS rated at 500 Watt.
Build Quality and Connectors
The build quality of the SMPS is pretty good and it has adequate number of connectors for Power, PATA and SATA. It has got 3 PATA, 4 SATA and 2 PCI-E (6+6+2) connectors.
Comparison of 12V Rails of Circle 500W and Corsair 450W SMPS
Here is the comparison of the amount of current listed on 12V Rail on a local branded Circle Raw Power 500 Watt SMPS and a reputed branded Corsair 450W SMPS. Here you can see that the Circle 500W SMPS has only 28A on 12V Rail, whereas a Corsair 450W SMPS has 34A on its 12Volt Rail. Also the cost of Corsair 450W SMPS at Rs. 2300/- is lesser than the Circle 500W SMPS. This shows that power supplies from this Circle brand is neither worth the money nor the performance.
12V Rail Current in Circle Raw Power 500 Watt (PFC) SMPS -> 28A
12V Rail Current in Corsair VS450 SMPS -> 34A
Final words
Circle Raw Power 500 Watt SMPS is very underpowered power supply especially for a SMPS in 500 Watt range. Even a 400 Watt SMPS from good brands like Corsair, Antec, Cooler Master Etc. can outperform this SMPS by a huge margin. Circle 500W SMPS is priced at Rs. 2799/- which is very high for a local branded SMPS. So in all this SMPS is complete NO and should go for the power supplies from good brands like Corsair, Cooler Master, Antec, Tagan, Seasonic and VIP.

My specs amd x4 880k , nvidia 660ti , 2x4gb ddr3 ram , normal mother board , 2 led fans dont know rpm , 1 7200 rpm hdd and dvd and cd r/w . should i buy this of corsair or cool master and 450 watt will be enough or not. or should i buy intex techno 450watt
To be on safer side i recommend you to go for Corsair VS550. You can buy it here http://www.amazon.in/Corsair-VS-VS550-Watt-SMPS/dp/B00DQ5OB4C/?tag=aksha0b-21 and do not ever think of Intex.
Plz suggest me a best 500w PSU for gaming .in my area there are so many up n down in voltage … my spec is i3 4150 mobo gigabyte d3h GPU gtx 750 ti. I alo used a corsair vs 450 but it failed in 4 days..
I would advise you to get Antec VP550P. You can buy it here http://www.amazon.in/Antec-VP550P-550-Watts-PSU/dp/B00565RGQA/?tag=aksha0b-21
I have ordered a gtx 750 ti oc 2gb ddr5. my current specs are : intel g2020 2.9ghz , 4gb ram, 1.5 tb hdd.
my current psu is intex it 216 which has only 18amps on +12v rail.
thats why i am planning to buy either corsair vs 450w or Cooler master thunder 450w to be safe.
which will be better of these two?
Further i am also using a frontech 725 (600VA) ups. will the ups handle these psu or i should buy a new one?
Go for Corsair VS450. It is a bit cheaper than CM thunder 450W and is sufficient for your system.
Thanks.
Hello.
I have an iBall SPS-252 and want to upgrade it to wither corsair vs450, or an antec bp450
How do I know the new PSU will have enough pins for as my current PSU in order to support my pc?
SMPS from big brands like corsair and antec have the connectors and pins. If you are still unsure then you can check their spec on internet or can ask me.
my system config includes i5 6400 ,8gb ddr4 ram,500gb hdd and a gtx 970, is circle apfc 500 watt reliable for this config ? and by the way i hava a spare 450 watt zebronics can i use both psu for my build… 500 watt for the Gpu and tha 450 for the motherboard.
I would not recommend it. Get at least Corsair VS550 for GTX 970.
Hello, I am getting a new PC soon, the system will be-
Amd fx 6300 (stock cooler)
Gtx 750 ti 2gb gddr5
4gb Kingston hyper-x 1866mhz ram
Asus m5a78l-m mobo
Wd 256gb 7.2k rpm hard drive (I intend to upgrade it in the future)
Lg CD/DVD writer/reader
Circle cc 820
I was thinking of buying the circle 500w psu over the corsair vs450 to be able to upgrade my pc in the future, but after seeing your post i am quite unsure of what to do.
Please tell me what I should buy thats under 3k which meets my pc requirements and also gives me headroom to upgrade.
BTW the circle psu is cheaper than corsair’s in my area
I would say go with Corsair VS450. It should be enough for your PC even if you upgrade a bit. Don’t judge SMPS only by wattage (W) as current on 12V rail is most important.
I have a msi n750 ti,biostar h61mlv2 and pentium processor which psu i have to use
I suggest you to go for Corsair VS450. You can buy it here at great discount http://amzn.to/2dr3IzW

Circle 500 smps vs Corsair 450w
Whch is better???
Corsair VS450 definitely.
I am not a heavy gamer..I am planning to use the PSU of circle which is bronze certified and 550W..I think it has a cheap price..Can you please check and tell me if it is good? It has proper 12V current..Please check. Here’s the link:
http://www.circlect.com/gaming-accessories/raw-power/550-watt-m80plus.html
It has 38A of current under 12V Rail which seems okay for building a mid-range gaming PC. So it should be fine for your requirements.
It would be alright to use such a power supply right? Like it won’t harm the other components in anyway?
I think you should be fine.
I used circle 500w for i5 3570 and rx470 but it got busted in just 4 days suggest me a good and cheaper psu for this specs which lasts long
Thanks
I suggest Corsair VS550.
